Philippe

"She's thinking Philippe, I'm thinking Wing Stop" Rick Ross (Ft. Gucci Mane) - MC Hammer

Okay no! We obviously prefer Philippe's chicken satay to Wing Stop's wings, sorry Rick Ross.  Philippe is one of our favorite places to dine in the city and Hamptons.  Mr. Chow's chicken satay is to die for, the creamy sauce loaded with calories, makes you want to down 5 of these delicious skewers.  Another must have are the chicken lettuce wraps, yummy.

What we enjoy:
B - Crispy Beef & Philippe's House Salad
Justinien - Chilean Sea Bass
Hamptons House - Crunchy Duck Salad, Vegetable Dumplings, Beijing Chicken, & House Me Mignon

Spotted @ Madison location: Shawn & Marlon Wayan and Jerome Bettis with crew
Spotted @ East Hampton: Chris Bosh

Philippe - Hot Spot, Must for the Hamptons, Group for Groups

New York, NY  10022

East Hampton

Blue Hill at Stone Barns

Blue Hill is spectacular!! There are currently two locations Greenwich Village & Tarrytown, NY. All the produce is brought in from surrounding farms & their farm.

The Greenwich Village location allows you to choose from a menu of wonderful things like Wild Striped Bass w/string beans, currants, curry & pine nuts and This Morning's Farm Egg w/fava beans, dandelion greens, pancetta, & almonds.

Blue Hill at Stone Barns in Tarrytown is completely different. You are given the option between 8 course tasting menu or 5 course tasting menu. The waiter describes the menu as be up to the chef and really your dislikes and likes, aka if you do not eat pork none of the dishes will have pork. Each dish will wake up your palate and hit you with flavors you've never eaten before. We were served fresh veggies on a stick, mini-pea burgers, zucchini fried w/sesame seeds, summer vegetable salad, wild striped bass w/artichoke dressing, potato & ricotta gnocchi, homemade bread w/butter and vegetable salt, grass fed beef, strawberry chilled soup w/sorbet, and....honeycombs w/chocolate covered almonds. It was truly a culinary experience and an experience that can not be written about. You have to enjoy it for yourself.

We almost forgot to mention how romantic this place is. Imagine pulling up to this gorgeous brick farm at night surrounded by candle light and bright stars in the sky! The bar has this old school feel yet modern at the same time. Also, the staff knows their stuff! They know the produce, what's in season, the right wines, and they listen to your dietary constraints, they also order your car once your meal is over! How amazing!?!?

Blue Hill at Stone Barns - Must go, Foodies will enjoy, long long dinner, $$$$, go early and walk the farm

NYC Restaurant Week - July 12th - 25th

SM's review of One if by Land, Two if by Sea...

One of our best friend tried this amazing restaurant. We hope you enjoy her review, we did!

A little snip-it about SM: she's a foodie, a social-lite, and chic lady with calendar packed with spectacular events. She never forgets to invite and her smile & laugh will get you in the mood to party. SM's review:

Fighting to get a reservation on OpenTable, I was delighted to get a 9:15pm slot. With prix-fixe normally being $80 per person, restaurant week was a steal. We ordered a bottle of prosecco to kick off the night.

For starters we ordered:
Cucumber Gazpacho w/organic cumin yogurt, mint, dill, cilantro, balsamic

Entrees:
The Hubby - Wild Red Snapper w/kalamata olives, preserved lemon risotto, & herb salad
SM - Homemade Summer Squash Fettuccine w/rustic peperonata sauce, oregano, parmigiano reggiano

Dessert:
The Hubby - Gianduja Mousee w/caramel bananas, banana bread ice cream
SM - Almond Milk Panna Cotta w/sable breton, fresh strawberries, & strawberry sorbet

Off the regular menu we ordered the truffle oil polenta - incredible & he ordered the gruyere pretzel.

Low down: Atmosphere was tres romantic, we had a corner table, the piano was playing beautifully, and our waiter was wonderful. My favorite dish on the menu was the “Famous” Pretzel Bread with Gruyere Cheese. While this place is rated in the top 5 of most romantic in the city; I can't say it would make my top 5. The restaurant is gorgeous, don’t get me wrong, and the food was delicious, but that’s not my idea of most romantic. For me, I’d go with the private dining room at Philippe Marie. Don’t let me sway you from eating there- One if by Land, Two if by Sea is definite must in this city.

Next on the list…Barolo, a West Broadway fav, and The Oak Room at the Plaza.

p.s. thanks SM for the fabulous review!

Monday Night - Tequila & Kenmare

Tanteo Mexican Standoff

Checked into the event as B, the "Influencer", and Justinien, B's guest. We started off the night with their signature drink the Tanteo JalapeƱo Margarita. Justinien was impressed with his cocktail since he is strictly a Maker's man, he gave the official nod of approval after his first sip. As we sipped our drinks we people watched, of course. We spotted a girl wearing the same skirt as B but in grey and a $13k Blancpain 50 fathoms watch, which Justinien gladly pointed out. The crowd consisted of bar owners, investors, bartenders, and friends. It was definitely chill. After B's first drink was over, she had to have another...as Jay-Z & Swizz say: "on the the next one" - she ordered the Cocoa Lemonade - delicious & refreshing.

We left at 8:15 to catch our ressies at Kenmare.

Dinner Recap:
Artichoke & Heart of Palm Salad - $10
Crispy Halibut w/Chive Mashed Potatoes - $24
New York Strip Steak w/Asparagus Risotto & Truffle Burst Tomatoes - $28
Veal Cutlet w/Salsa Verde, Arugula, Lemon & Ricotta Salata - $25
Sea Bass - Special
Justinien was not impressed by the NY Strip and neither was B; the fat was not quite trimmed and we were shocked because it's such a recommended item. On the other hand, the Halibut was delicious, cooked perfectly with chive mashed potatoes, yum. Dessert you say? We indulged in the freshly baked Chocolate Chip Cookies served with melted Nutella - HEAVEN! Would B go back? Probably - but just for the dessert and a nice glass of wine.

Kenmare - Hot Spot, Trendy, & Scene
NYTimes Review - brutal

10:30pm - Justinien and B hugged their roomies goodbye and put them in a cab. We walked to MercBar, 151 Mercer to join a few friends and the Tanteo guys. It was a chill way to end the evening. Everyone was sipping their margs and laughing the night away. What more could you need on a Monday night?

MercBar - Hot Spot, Chill, Lounge, Manly
Music - Hot Mess
