TURNTABLE TUESDAYS!

Here we are - back again for another smashingly awesome week of good music.

We are pleased to announce that MGMT is back on tour after a minor hiatus. They will be playing twice this week at Radio City Music Hall tonight, 8/17 with Amazing Baby and Wednesday 8/18 with Francis and The Lights. If you don't know who MGMT is, first of all, you've been living under a rock. GET OUT FROM UNDER IT! Check out their new songs on their MySpace page. Unfortunately, tix are sold out through ticketmaster, but you're luck hasn't run out - you can still score some on StubHub or old reliable, Craigslist.

Next on the Must See list for the week is a lesser known artist: Ray Lamontagne. We like him for his folk rock and raspy voice; it gets the ladies every time. Ray has performed with Dave Matthews, John Mayer, Simon & Garfunkel, among others. His 4th album drops TODAY (can you believe it?!) titled, God Willin' & The Creek Don't Rise. Check him out this week at the Nikon Theater @ Jones Beach on Thursday, August 19th performing with David Gray. Tickets are still on sale at TicketMaster for as little at $25. We think Folk, Blue Grass & Country is making a head on collision with Indie and Ray is making a huge entrance into the scene. His sounds can be heard here, but honestly our fav is his song "Jolene" - it's just the perfect song to wind down summer with.

Last on our list for the week we'll be clubbin' it up with Crystal Castles on Saturday Night, August 21st at Terminal 5. A brand new venue for New York City and honestly all of the new music to keep tabs on is being featured here. We have been listening to Crystal Castles for about 4 years now and still can't get enough of them - the GameBoy infused sound oddly connects with us. If you're looking to mix up your gym work out, this Guy & Girl duo (Ethan Kath - producer & Alice Glass - vocals) will help you increase your speed on the tredmill from an lame 5MPH speed on the tredmill to 8MPH! (yes, we know you do only a 5mph on zero incline - let's get moving!!) Their music is a little violent, harsh or skull numbing to some, but to us it gets us so completely fired up to punch the heavy bag a little harder and run that extra mile. Just trust us, go see them. Tix are $45. Ya know, if you're not afraid of a little rave.

See you next week kids!
-S&B
